■Unique and innovative structure
The Wenk cone flowmeter is a new type of differential pressure flowmeter.
It shares the same basic principles as other types of differential pressure flow meters, but has a unique design.
The Wenke cone flowmeter adopts a combination of two differential pressure throttling elements in its structural design, which can be combined with a multi parameter differential pressure transmitter to form a high-precision and multifunctional differential pressure flowmeter.
Compared with general differential pressure flow meters, it has high long-term accuracy, good repeatability, is less limited by installation conditions, is wear-resistant, and has a wide measurement range.
Moreover, due to the rectifying effect of both the Venturi nozzle (primary rectification) and the conical body (secondary rectification) on the flow field, it has become an excellent new type of flowmeter with unique performance.
The Wenk cone flowmeter can measure media including water, steam, air, natural gas, nitrogen, coke oven gas, and organic gases.
If special structural materials are used, the temperature and pressure can be even higher. The maximum working temperature is 700 ℃ and the maximum pressure is 32Mpa.
The Wenk cone flowmeter can achieve high differential pressure, with a range ratio of up to 40:1, and there are no special requirements for straight pipe sections.
■working principle
The basic part of a Wenk cone flowmeter consists of a Venturi Nozle nozzle and a Vencore cone.
The Venturi nozzle accelerates the fluid medium and rectifies and stabilizes the flow velocity profile.
The conical body detects the flow velocity at the throat of the Venturi nozzle and rectifies it twice.
Due to the increased and stable flow velocity at the constriction of the throat, the conical flow element can detect significant differential pressure and stable flow signals.
■No special requirements for straight pipe sections
The Wenk cone flowmeter can be used in restricted straight pipe sections.
The fluid medium is accelerated and rectified by contraction at the inlet, and is rectified twice by a conical body at the throat of the Venturi nozzle. The velocity profile has been stabilized and linearized, so there is no need for an upstream straight pipe section.
After passing through the conical shape at the throat of the Venturi nozzle, the fluid medium enters the diffusion section, expands sufficiently, and then reaches the downstream outlet without being disturbed by downstream flow changes, so there is no need for a downstream straight pipe section.

Measurement of mass or volume flow rate
Each Wenk cone flowmeter needs to be calibrated separately. The calibration of the C coefficient is usually carried out on standard equipment in manufacturing plants or in independent laboratories traceable to national standards. When the Reynolds number Red is equal to or greater than 8000, the repeatability of the Wenk cone flowmeter is 0.1%.
