1) Basis and purpose

Complies with the testing requirements for flexible pipelines in section 10.5 of API Spec 16C "Specification for Throttle and Kill Systems".

And it complies with GB/T 21477-2008/ISO 15540:1999 "Fire resistance test methods for ship and offshore technical hose assemblies".

This test is used to demonstrate the fire resistance performance requirements of flexible throttling and well killing pipelines. The specified 5 to 30 minute fire resistance test is conducted, during which the fire resistance test results of the pipeline under nominal working pressure should show no visible leakage during the test period.

This test can also be used to determine the fire resistance performance of hose components with a nominal diameter of not less than 100mm. And prove that the hose assembly has continuous tightness even when subjected to test pressure after applying a flame for a period of time on the test bench specified in GB/T 21476-2008/ISO 15541:1999 "Fire resistance test bench requirements for ship and offshore technical hose assemblies". When testing hose specimens, the length of the hose should not be less than 500mm.

The test medium is water. When testing flexible pipelines, high-pressure water should be filled and horizontal or vertical tests should be conducted according to the manufacturer's selection. As a test specimen, the length of the pipeline sample should not be less than 10 feet (3 meters): at least 5 feet of flexible pipeline and one end joint should be exposed to flames or radiation.

2) Main technical specifications and parameters of the equipment:

1. Test box pipeline pressure system:

1) The high-pressure system required for testing flexible pipelines is provided by the customer themselves.

2) During the testing of rubber hoses, the inlet and outlet temperatures are monitored in real-time.

3) One inlet pressure gauge and one internal pressure gauge for the test pipeline, with a scale accuracy of 1%.

4) One set of pressure regulating device, equipped with a pressure regulating device at the inlet end, with adjustable water pressure.

5) The inlet and outlet pipelines are equipped with shut-off valves to prevent backflow of water.

6) One set of pipeline sealing device.

7) All pipelines are installed with stainless steel pipes with a diameter of DN25.

8) The fire resistance test method includes direct flame heating, and at the end of heating, the temperature indicated by the thermocouple should be equal to or greater than 704 ℃.

9) Apply flame temperature: The duration of the test is when the specimen reaches the test temperature (flame temperature), that is, the thermocouple should be placed within a range of approximately 25.4mm (1 in) on the outer surface of the pipeline or end joint. At least two measurement points should reach the test temperature, one near the flexible pipeline and one near the outer surface of the joint. The flame temperature at the measurement point should be equal to or greater than 704 ℃.

10) The rubber hose fire-resistant system requires one booster pump with adjustable water pressure up to 1.2Mpa (approximately 12bar), which mainly controls the inlet pressure inside the pipeline. When the system is working, the working pressure is 5 ± 0.2 bar.

11) The flame temperature requirement for the fire-resistant system of rubber hoses: The duration of the test is calculated from the moment when the specimen reaches the test temperature (flame temperature), that is, when the temperatures at both measurement points reach the test temperature. The flame temperature at measurement points 3 and 4 is (800 ± 50) ℃. Adding two measurement points 1 and 2, the water temperature should be (80 ± 2) ℃ and 85 ℃ respectively.

12) Rubber hose fire resistance test: The water flow rate can be controlled. If the water temperature at measuring point 2 is greater than 85 degrees, the water pump speed needs to be increased. If it continues to be greater than 85 degrees for 10 seconds, the system will automatically cut off the flame combustion device.

13) After heating with fire, the pipeline should be kept under pressure or until it cools down, or if leakage occurs after the test, it should be reduced to 100KPa. During this period, the flexible pipeline should not burst.

14) One set of combustion frame device for clamping and fixing test tubes. (Add a set to be made according to the drawings provided by the customer)

15) Install an exhaust system on the upper end of the test combustion chamber.
