Product details

Equipment structure

The structure of the ultraviolet weather resistant box is a stainless steel inner box space, equipped with two rows of four lamps each to simulate ultraviolet light. The temperature of the inner box is increased through a humidification system to simulate a humid environment, and then combined with a sprinkler system to simulate rain. The three different environments are alternately cycled through program settings.

meet the standard

GB/T 14522-93 ; ASTM G 154,ISO 4892-1; ISO 11507 ; ASTMD 4329

Product Usage

The TL-UV series UV weather resistant box can simulate the hazards caused by sunlight, rainwater, and dew. UV uses fluorescent UV lamps to simulate the effect of sunlight exposure, and uses condensed moisture to simulate rainwater and dew. The tested material is placed in a cyclic program of alternating light and moisture at a certain temperature for testing. UV can reproduce the hazards that occur outdoors for months to years in a matter of days or weeks. The types of hazards include fading, discoloration, loss of light, powdering, cracking, turbidity, bubbles, brittleness, strength degradation, and oxidation. UV test data can help you select new materials and evaluate how changes in formulation affect the durability of new products.

Widely used in coatings, inks, paints, resins, plastics, rubber, printing and packaging, aluminum profiles, adhesives, automotive and motorcycle industries, cosmetics, metals, electronics, electroplating, pharmaceuticals, etc.

Test conditions

1. The fixed device for the test sample is placed on the test rack, facing the fluorescent lamp. When the sample rack is not filled with the sample, a blackboard is needed to fill the rack and keep the inner wall of the test box closed.

2. Test temperature. When illuminated, three temperatures of 50 ℃, 60 ℃, and 70 ℃ can be used, with 60 ℃ being the preferred temperature; The temperature during the condensation stage is 50 ℃, with a temperature tolerance uniformity of ± 2.

4. The condensation cycle for each illumination can be selected from two cycles: 4H illumination and 4H condensation, or 8H illumination and 4H condensation.

After the first illumination of 400-450H, each row of lamps needs to be replaced with a fluorescent lamp, and the other lamps should be compensated for the losses caused by lamp aging according to the lamp cycle and replacement method. This operating mode ensures that the service life of each lamp tube is around 1600H.

When replacing the lamp tube, the water tray should be wiped dry and cleaned to avoid the formation of scale.

Test samples and performance evaluation

1. Appearance evaluation: The evaluation of coatings mainly focuses on appearance, and plastic and rubber can also be evaluated for appearance when necessary. The inspection items mainly include gloss, color changes, powdering, spots, bubbles, cracks, and dimensional stability. Quantitative item testing should be carried out using instruments as much as possible, such as gloss and colorimeter.

2. Evaluation of mechanical and other properties: Generally, rubber materials are measured for tensile strength, elongation, hardness, impact strength, elongation at break, tensile strength, and bending strength. If necessary, other performance testing items may be specified.
