Total phosphorus includes dissolved, particulate, organic, and inorganic phosphorus. Phosphorus is one of the essential elements for biological growth. If the phosphorus content in the medium water is too high (over 0.2 mg/L), it can cause excessive reproduction of algae until the quantity reaches a harmful level, resulting in reduced transparency and deterioration of water quality in lakes and rivers. This instrument is widely used for the determination of surface water, groundwater, sewage, and industrial wastewater.
