The TEROS 31 tensiometer is compact in size and responds quickly, making it particularly suitable for use in laboratories. Its measuring head is only 0.5cm2It can densely measure the water potential distribution of undisturbed soil, as well as measure smaller volume soil samples with minimal disturbance to the soil. The TEROS 31 sensor can be installed in any position and direction, simply drill a 5mm hole with the matching micro spiral drill and insert the tension meter. For over twenty years, UMS has sold tens of thousands of such sensors, and based on years of experience, the TEROS 31 tension meter has been continuously improved to possess the characteristics of accuracy, sensitivity, and compactness.

Measuring principle
The soil water potential can be transmitted to the inside of the sensor through a ceramic cup, causing changes in water pressure inside the sensor. The pressure sensor located inside the sensor outputs a simulated signal to obtain the corresponding water potential.
