The softening water equipment used in the laundry room is equipped with cation exchange resin, which mainly removes calcium (Ca2+) and magnesium (Mg2+) ions from the water supply through ion exchange principle, thereby reducing the hardness of the water supply and meeting the water requirements. Widely used in hot water furnaces, medium and low pressure steam boilers, central air conditioning, industrial circulation cooling, textile printing and dyeing, food, washing and other industries. The operation of softened water equipment includes five processes: water production, backwashing, salt absorption (regeneration), slow flushing (replacement), and fast flushing. All processes of different softening water equipment are very similar, but there may be some additional processes due to differences in actual processes or control needs. Any softening water equipment based on sodium ion exchange is developed on the basis of these five processes (among which, the fully automatic softening water equipment will increase the saltwater re injection process).

The hardness of water is mainly composed of calcium (Ca2+) and magnesium (Mg2+) ions. When raw water containing hardness ions passes through the resin layer inside the water softener, calcium (Ca2+) and magnesium (Mg2+) ions in the water are exchanged and adsorbed by the resin, while releasing sodium (Na2+) ions of equal mass. The water flowing out of the water softener is softened water with hardness ions removed. After the resin absorbs a certain amount of calcium (Ca2+) and magnesium (Mg2+) ions, it must be regenerated. The regeneration process is to rinse the resin layer with saline solution in the salt tank, replacing the hardness ions on the resin, and discharging it out of the tank with the regeneration waste liquid. The resin then regains its ability to soften and exchange.

  Working principle of softened water equipment for laundry room

Due to the fact that the hardness of water is mainly formed and expressed by calcium and magnesium, cation exchange resins (water softeners) are generally used to replace Ca2+and Mg2+(the main components that form scale) in water. As the Ca2+and Mg2+in the resin increase, the efficiency of removing Ca2+and Mg2+gradually decreases. After the resin absorbs a certain amount of calcium and magnesium ions, it must be regenerated. The regeneration process is to rinse the resin layer with saline solution in the salt tank, replacing the hardness ions on the resin. The resin is then discharged from the tank with the regeneration waste liquid, and the softening exchange function of the resin is restored.

(1) The raw water of the softened water equipment enters the control valve through the inlet, passes through the valve body from the upper part of the valve core, and enters the tank from the top (or the outer side of the resin tank center pipe, the same below). Then, it goes down through the resin layer (which is softened, purified as a carbon layer, etc., the same below), becomes softened water, returns to the central pipe through the lower water distributor, goes up to the valve body, and is discharged from the outlet of the softened water equipment after passing through the valve core.

(2) The raw water of the softened water equipment enters the control valve through the inlet, passes through the valve body from the upper part of the valve core, enters the tank through the lower part of the tank (or the center pipe, the same below) and the lower water distributor, then goes up through the resin layer, passes through the valve body and valve core, and flows out from the drainage outlet of the softened water equipment.

(3) The raw water of the softened water equipment enters the control valve through the inlet, passes through the valve core and enters the inlet of the nozzle, and quickly flows towards the outlet of the nozzle, generating negative pressure, thereby sucking the salt water in the salt tank into the valve body through the salt suction port and entering the top of the tank. Salt water flows down through the resin layer, passes through the lower water distributor, and goes up along the central pipe to the valve body and valve core before being discharged from the drainage outlet of the softened water equipment.

(4) After the softened water equipment has absorbed all the saline water, the raw water continues to enter the control valve through the inlet, passes through the valve core into the nozzle, flows through the nozzle, passes through the resin layer downwards, enters the valve body and valve core along the central pipe through the lower water distributor, and is discharged from the drainage outlet of the softened water equipment.

(5) The raw water of the softened water equipment enters the control valve through the inlet, passes through the valve core into the outlet of the spray nozzle, and is injected into the salt tank from the salt suction port. Another part of the water flows through the outlet of the spray nozzle, flows through the small hole of the spray nozzle to the inlet of the spray nozzle, and after passing through the valve body and valve core, the sewage of the softened water equipment flows out from the drainage port.

(6) The raw water of the softened water equipment enters the control valve through the inlet, passes through the valve body from the upper part of the valve core, and enters the tank from the top. Then, it goes down through the resin layer, returns to the central pipe through the lower water distributor, goes up to the valve body, and is discharged from the drainage port of the softened water equipment after passing through the valve core.
