The smart highway system includes four levels: integrated road operation management platform, vehicle road collaborative management platform, intelligent roadside base station system, and intelligent vehicle terminal system, as shown in the following figure:

The highway management platform refers to the integrated management platform of road operation, which is a comprehensive management platform jointly organized by the vehicle road collaborative management platform and other business support platforms. The platform includes various devices such as servers and software systems, switches, large screen display terminals, control terminals, etc.
Vehicle road collaborative management platform, which is an integrated management platform for monitoring various road sections, integrates data sources such as video management, event management, traffic control, electromechanical management, toll monitoring, emergency management, etc., forming a data resource library for individual road sections. The road segment data is transmitted to the corresponding road network center through the fiber optic network, forming a database of the road network, which is the primary platform of the highway system.
Intelligent roadside equipment includes communication devices V2X roadside base stations and peripheral sensors. Responsible for broadcasting road condition information to the in vehicle terminal system. Receive abnormal situations reported by the intelligent vehicle terminal system, upload them to the central platform, and the central platform will issue warnings to appropriate intelligent roadside devices for other vehicles.
The intelligent vehicle terminal system receives perception information from the roadside system through V2X vehicle terminals. Combining its own sensors to provide assisted driving/autonomous driving services, improving traffic safety and efficiency.
