The new SCALANCE XM-400 product line includes modular industrial Ethernet switches that can be expanded with various port extenders and plug-in transceivers, enabling a maximum configuration of up to 24 ports. It supports 10/100/1000 Mbit technology and can be used for various transmission media (twisted pair, fiber optic, etc.) as well as high port requirements. It is mainly used for high-performance factory networks (control level). With the help of a flexible modular structure, the XM-400 product line can also meet future requirements and be adjusted according to relevant tasks.
The new XM-400 series will replace the previous X-400 series (X414-3E and X408-2).
Combo port for flexible use of interfaces: One Combo port contains an electrical port and an SFP slot. Always keep one of these two ports active. If an SFP plug-in transceiver is inserted, the electrical port will be disabled.
Utilizing WLAN and NFC for rapid mobile diagnostics via smartphones/tablets: Quickly access the web management features of SCALANCE XM-400 through a mobile website. This feature can be activated using existing WLAN and NFC (Near Field Communication)
By integrating a redundancy manager, high-speed media redundancy for large networks can be achieved, suitable for Gigabit Ethernet and Fast Ethernet
Remote diagnosis can be achieved through PROFINET diagnostics, CLI, web browser, or SNMP.
Integrated into TIA Expo, configuration can be uploaded/downloaded
Thanks to supporting a large number of IT standards, automated networks can be seamlessly integrated into existing company networks: establishing virtual networks (VLANs);
Supports standard redundancy protocols (Fast Spanning Tree Protocol, Link Aggregation Protocol) and can be integrated into upper level enterprise networks
By recording the multicast source and destination (Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP) Snooping), the SCALANCE XM-400 switch can also filter multicast data traffic, thus limiting network load.
By combining the use of KEY-PLUG XM-400, layer 3 functionality can be activated for IPv4 (and soon for IPv6 as well). For more detailed instructions, please refer to the "Attachment for Layer 3 Switches/Routers"
