SIL rating, which determines the safety integrity level. According to international standards, the safety level is divided into four levels, namely SIL1-4. Among them, SIL4 level is high; The safety level required for the production process is evaluated and determined by specialized production technology companies, and the safety level required for processes with higher safety requirements is generally SIL3.

Overview of SIL Rating

SIL (Safety Integrity Level) - Safety Integrity Level.

The SIL technical standard was first issued and formulated by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), and is implemented under the jurisdiction of IEC/TC65. The national centralized standardization technical committee for SIL technology is the "National Process Industry Measurement, Control and Automation" Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC124), and the secretariat unit is the Institute of Comprehensive Technical and Economic Research for Mechanical Industry Instruments and Meters.

SIL certification is divided into four levels, SIL1、SIL2、SIL3、SIL4, This includes two levels: product and system. Among them, SIL4 has high requirements.

SIL certification is based on IEC 61508(GB/T 20438), IEC 61511(GB/T 21109), IEC 61513, IEC 13849-1, IEC 62061, IEC 61800-5-2 A third-party assessment, verification, and certification that evaluates and confirms the Safety Integrity Level (SIL) or Performance Level (PL) of safety equipment based on standards. Functional safety certification mainly involves document management (FSM) evaluation for the development process of safety equipment, hardware reliability calculation and evaluation, software evaluation, environmental testing, EMC electromagnetic compatibility testing, and other contents.
