Road Lighting Imaging Brightness Meter - Road Engineering Imaging Brightness Meter - Opticam 3.0 Product Description:

Road Lighting Imaging Brightness Meter - Road Engineering Imaging Brightness Meter - Opticam 3.0 is a high-performance imaging brightness meter specially designed for road lighting measurement by GL optical. It is equipped with a high-resolution CMOS image sensor with V - λ correction filter, a 50mm focal length lens, and intuitive and easy-to-use analysis software. It can measure real-time brightness distribution for on-site applications such as street blocks, tunnel lighting, and airport lighting, and generate reports with just one click. The measurable technical parameters include: brightness, brightness distribution, iso candlestick chart, average brightness, minimum/maximum value chart, correlated color temperature, color rendering index, color uniformity, color consistency, and spectral power distribution.

working principle:

Traditional brightness meters use a single lens optical system and appropriately adjusted photodiodes, known as brightness meters, which can achieve precise aiming and focusing at small points. This brightness meter is fast and reliable, but due to its technical characteristics, it has two main drawbacks. Firstly, they typically have very narrow viewing angles, meaning that from a given distance, we can measure areas (points) of relatively small size. However, when measuring brightness distribution, users are forced to make multiple measurements and manually calculate the brightness distribution of a given area; Secondly, matching the photodiode category of the V (λ) filter may lead to measurement errors, depending on the spectral power distribution type or color temperature of the light source. These instruments are very suitable for measuring broadband light sources, that is, light sources with a wide radiation range. On the other hand, in the case of certain white LED light sources (especially RGB systems), even high-quality instruments may have errors as high as 20%.

Imagers have high accuracy and are typically equipped with advanced Class A optical system calibration with a V (λ) function (DIN 5032-7). With the help of CMOS or CCD sensors, ultra-high resolution measurements up to 8 million pixels can be achieved. A wide range of measurement values can accurately measure objects with significant changes in brightness. By using appropriate neutral density filters or high dynamic range imaging techniques, the dynamic range of the imager can range from 0.001 cd/m2 to 200 kcd/m2. The most advanced models also use special cooling technology in the measurement system to achieve excellent stability and repeatability.

The GL Optic imaging brightness meter uses a multi million pixel 2D image sensor that can record the entire image of a given surface, lighting component, or the entire interior of a building. The recorded images can be analyzed in detail using accompanying software. By using image analysis tools, it is possible to quickly mark areas or points of interest and easily evaluate the connections between different measurement areas visually and quantitatively. The specialized software for this type of system can display brightness levels in the form of histograms, pseudocolor, equiaxed, 3D charts, create reports, and include many other useful features.
