Reflective probe for measuring powders and viscous liquids
In order to effectively measure the reflectivity of powders and highly absorbent viscous liquids, Avantes has launched a specially designed reflective probe. The measurer simply needs to insert the probe into the powder or viscous liquid. The light from the illumination source is coupled into a bundle of six optical fibers through a standard SMA905 connector, which are directly connected to the probe end and illuminate the tested sample material through a 45 degree sapphire window. This angle can avoid the forward reflection of the window, thereby improving the dynamic range of the measurement.
