The Taber reciprocating wear tester is similar to the testing instrument described in ISO 1518 standard. Users can choose appropriate accessories to perform various tangible damage tests on the material surface, such as abrasion and scratching, which is particularly ideal for testing flat samples.

Users can weigh the actual weight of the balance arm to ensure the accuracy of the test load. The end of the balance arm is a weight holder and accessory fixture, and below the reciprocating wear tester is a horizontally moving sample table. The testing parameters such as reciprocating length, speed, and load are adjustable, making it convenient for users to establish the best possible testing mode.

Unique design, simple operation and application

The test sample is fixed on a horizontal sample table and worn out as the sample table moves horizontally under the specified abrasive and load. The other end of the test arm is equipped with a weight to maintain its balance and ensure the accuracy of the sample surface load. The height of the abrasive and load rack can be adjusted to suit the testing of samples at different heights. Parameters such as stroke, speed, and load can be adjusted.

Multiple additional configurations are available to meet more testing needs

The testing arm uses the principle of a lever to adjust the load on the sample surface with a weight at one end to ensure the reliability of the experimental results.The Taber5900 reciprocating wear machine is used to evaluate the wear resistance, scratch resistance, abrasion resistance, and other physical performance tests of materials. There are specialized accessories available to meet the testing method of GMW14125, which uses different friction media to test the wear resistance of textiles.

Special testing arm kit

Using a special testing arm kit(To be purchased separately), the Taber5900 reciprocating wear machine can test three types of samples simultaneously, allowing operators to evaluate between samples in a timely manner.

The reciprocating wear tester is randomly equipped with a grinding head fixtureCS-10 and H-18 grinding heads. The shape and size of the grinding head are like the eraser on a pencil, and its material and composition are the same as those of the corresponding model of TABER grinding wheel. Just like using Taber linear wear tester and rotary wear tester, users can use this instrument to test the wear resistance of materials.

Other optional testing accessories provide users with a variety of testing methods and greatly expand the application range of the instrument, enabling it to perform tests such as wear, scratch, abrasion, etc. In addition, the instrument can also be equipped with two additional balance arms, allowing users to perform simultaneouslyThree tests.

The TABER 5900 reciprocating wear tester is equipped with a 216X278mm flat sample table with holes, allowing users to easily fix test samples using various hardware and methods. For most flat templates, users can use sample clips or choose wide hole fixators to secure the samples. For soft materials such as textiles, users can choose a sample fixing plate set to fix the sample. Standard or specially customized sample clips can also be used to secure products with slight contours. (As shown in the following figure)
