Proloba flow sensor is a differential pressure flow sensor developed based on the principle of Pitot tube speed measurement. This sensor is used in conjunction with differential pressure transmitters and display instruments to measure the flow rates of liquids, gases, and steam in circular and rectangular pipelines. It can be widely used in industries such as power, chemical, petroleum, and textile. Due to its low pressure loss and easy installation and maintenance, it is particularly suitable for measuring the flow rate of large-diameter pipelines.

1 Working principle

The velocity distribution in general pipelines is uneven, and to accurately measure, the entire circular cross-section is divided into four unit areas.

Two semicircles and two semicircles, with Proloba facing the direction of the fluid4A total pressure hole is located at the center of each unit area, and the measured total pressure reflects the magnitude of the flow velocity within the entire unit area. It is led from the total pressure outlet pipe to the positive pressure joint. The differential pressure measured by the differential pressure transmitter is proportional to the square of the flow rate, thus achieving the measurement of pipeline flow.

1 The structure is simple, and its basic components are as follows:

② The total pressure equalization chamber will4The total pressure detected by the booster hole is averaged and transmitted to the positive pressure chamber of the differential pressure transmitter. The total pressure is the sum of the static pressure in the pipeline and the dynamic pressure generated by the fluid flow rate.

③ Static pressure hole, located behind the total pressure hole, faces downstream of the fluid to detect static pressure.

④ The static pressure outlet chamber transmits the static pressure detected by the static pressure hole to the negative pressure chamber of the differential pressure transmitter. According to Bernoulli's principle, the difference between total pressure and static pressure is proportional to the flow rate, which reflects the magnitude of the flow rate.

2 Stability

Proloba can maintain a very stable differential pressure signal for a long time. During use, wear, abrasion, and adhesion of oil and dust have little effect on Proloba's flow coefficient, so the accuracy of Proloba is long-term stable.

3 Easy installation and maintenance, beneficial for pipeline layout

The Proloba sensor is a plug-in structure, lightweight, and easy to install and disassemble. Due to the absence of easily worn moving parts, maintenance work is minimal.

Proloba is not only suitable for pipeline installation on the ground, but can also be used to bury pipelines at any depth below the ground. Moreover, the length requirements for the upstream and downstream straight pipes of the sensor are relatively low compared to the orifice plate. What is particularly rare is that the Proloba flow sensor can be directly installed at only twice the diameter behind the elbow, and still provide stable readings.

4 Low pressure loss and energy consumption

A small permanent pressure loss means a small power loss, and the irreversible pressure loss of the Proloba sensor only accounts for the differential pressure2%~15%It is much smaller than the orifice plate, and with the increase of pipe diameter, the permanent pressure loss of Proloba can be ignored. Therefore, considering long-term operating energy consumption, it is very economical.
