In the processing of precision ball screws, in order to avoid bending deformation caused by the weight of the screw, it should be stored vertically and heat treated in a well furnace. Generally, the threads of non hardened lead screws are machined, while the threads of hardened lead screws are ground on a thread grinder. But for rough machining of teeth with large half angle and large pitch, lead screws, and threads, it is still better to turn before quenching.
Precision ball screw machining materials must first undergo strict acceptance of raw materials, which should be inspected item by item according to national standards, especially the surface quality (mainly the appearance, shape, and surface defects of the raw materials) inspection, chemical composition inspection, and internal quality (i.e. internal tissue defects such as looseness, slag inclusion, segregation, decarburization, etc.) inspection of the raw materials. Only after passing the inspection can they be put into production.
