The mechanism of surface filtration of PTFE coated dust bag membrane is the same as that of dust layer filtration, mainly relying on microporous screening. Due to the small pore size of the membrane, some dust particles can be retained on the surface of the membrane, completing the gas-solid separation process. This process is different from the separation process of general filter media, as dust does not penetrate deep into the fibers that support the filter media.

At the beginning of the filter bag operation, a thin layer of breathable dust can be formed on the membrane surface, which can achieve high dust removal efficiency and low operating resistance. And as mentioned earlier, cleaning the dust is also easy. The dust layer on the laminated polyester needle punched felt dust removal bag is prone to peeling off, and sometimes the dust will fall off before the cleaning mechanism is activated. Another important fact is that even hydraulic dust such as cement dust will be peeled off at the initial stage of agglomeration on the membrane surface. However, if the dust agglomeration phenomenon is severe or the smoke condenses, the membrane filter material is powerless and other measures should be taken to solve it.
