The original formula of Leibovitz L-15 culture medium does not contain any non CO2A sodium bicarbonate buffer system that balances the environment. Use phosphate, amino acids L-arginine, L-histidine, and L-cysteine as buffering agents. Replacing glucose with lactose and sodium pyruvate can prevent the formation of acidic metabolic byproducts. The uses include proliferation of HEP-2, monkey kidney cells, embryos, and primary cells derived from adult tissue blocks.
