Compared to previous generations of Lumina imaging systems, the IVIS Lumina S5 has replaced a new large field of view high pixel CCD camera, which not only improves imaging flux but also further enhances the system's imaging sensitivity. In addition, the Lumina S5 further enriches imaging and analysis options to help users conduct various imaging experiments more conveniently and flexibly.

High sensitivity and high-throughput optical imaging

The IVIS Lumina S5 adopts a new high-sensitivity large-sized CCD camera, which expands the maximum imaging field to 20 x 20 cm and can simultaneously conduct optical imaging experiments on 5 mice.

Like previous generations of IVIS Lumina systems, the S5 comes standard with 26 fluorescent filters, covering the entire spectrum from visible light to near-infrared light. The newly upgraded fluorescence excitation technology extends the fluorescence excitation range to 900 nm. At the same time, S5 adheres to the multispectral scanning and separation technology (Spectral Unmixing) of the previous generation Lumina system, performs multispectral scanning through multiple pairs of filter configurations, and uses Compute Pure Spectrum (CPS) for spectral calculation and splitting, achieving background light removal, multi probe imaging, and improving signal-to-noise ratio while obtaining more accurate fluorescence signal quantification results. As the industry benchmark for in vivo optical imaging quantification, S5 adheres to the calibration performance of previous generations of Lumina systems, ensuring consistent and reproducible quantitative results that are not affected by magnification, filter selection, or various imaging parameters.

Rich selection of accessories- Simplify the experimental operation process

The IVIS Lumina S5 not only expands imaging flux by upgrading its large-sized CCD camera, but also comes equipped with various imaging accessories (separately optional) for pre operation of experimental animals before imaging, helping users conduct experiments more conveniently.

Before imaging begins, users can place the experimental animals in the experimental animal tray in advance and load them into the imaging darkbox as a whole, without the need to perform the above operations in the experimental darkbox as before. At the same time, the imaging software can automatically identify and record the experimental animals at the corresponding positions based on the reference labels built into the tray, and perform ROI circle selection quantification.

The new animal tray adopts a modular design, and each module can be easily disassembled for easy cleaning. The animal anesthesia interface in the tray also adopts a nose less cone design for easy cleaning. In addition, combined with the powerful vacuum circulation device of the new generation gas anesthesia machine RAS-4, the degree of anesthesia gas leakage is minimized, improving the safety of use.

New Living Image ® The imaging and analysis software also has built-in animal ID recognition function. By combining the use of third-party animal ID chip recognition technology, users can easily identify, record, and output images and quantitative data from different experimental animal individuals.
