Purpose:
The Hydra soil moisture temperature conductivity sensor can simultaneously measure parameters such as soil volume moisture content, soil conductivity, and soil temperature. The sensor output signal can be selected from three types: analog signal, SDI-12, and RS485, which are widely used in the research and production fields of agriculture, hydrology, meteorology, geophysics, and civil engineering.
Measurement principle:
The Hydra soil moisture temperature conductivity sensor measures the dielectric constant by emitting high-frequency electromagnetic waves, allowing for the calculation of soil moisture content and conductivity. High frequency electromagnetic waves simultaneously measure the capacitance and conductivity characteristics of the measured object. The capacitance characteristics reflect the soil moisture content, while the conductivity characteristics reflect the soil salt content. The temperature is measured by embedding a calibrated electric heating regulator into the probe.
