1、 Working principle
The fall armyworm is a species of moth in the family Noctuidae, and its larvae mainly feed on corn and rice. Its larvae can feed on a large amount of fine-grained grains such as rice, sugarcane, and corn, as well as various crops such as Asteraceae and Brassicaceae, causing serious economic losses. Its development speed will increase with the rise of temperature, and it can reproduce several generations a year. A female moth can lay more than 1000 eggs. This species is native to the tropical region of the Americas and has a strong migration capacity. Since 2016, it has spread to Africa and Asia, and appeared in Chinese Mainland and Taiwan in 2019, which has caused huge agricultural losses in many countries.
A specialized tool developed based on the dietary and living habits of the fall armyworm to lure and kill it.
2、 Instructions for use
Wrap the lure core of the fall armyworm into the lure handle of the inverted cone trap, insert the lure handle into the inverted cone trap, and then lock the inverted cone trap onto a stick and insert it into the field. The fall armyworm pest on the grassland is attracted by the lure and flies into the inverted cone trap, where it is trapped. Lures belong to sex pheromones and have a significant attraction effect on male pests. By reducing the population of male insects, female insects are unable to lay eggs normally, achieving the suppression of pest outbreaks and control of insect population density.
This inverted cone trap is used in conjunction with the armyworm core on the grassland. The general location of the field embankment is 2 sets per acre, suspended according to the principle of "dense periphery and sparse middle", and the lure core is replaced every two months. The rubber coated iron rod matched with the inverted cone trap can adjust the height, and users can adjust the product height according to the crop height. Generally, the bottom funnel of the inverted cone trap should be 1 to 1.2 meters above the ground or more than 20 centimeters above the top of the crop. The inverted cone trap can be recycled and reused without human damage. It can withstand sunlight and rain for 2 years.
