Fracture modulus tester HMOR 422
Fracture modulus tester HMOR 422
Product details
Measuring the maximum load and modulus of rupture (MOR) of refractory materials at high temperatures has been widely used as a method for evaluating material properties at operating temperatures. It, along with other thermophysical properties, has become a very important parameter in the research and quality control of refractory materials (such as furnace lining materials).

The fracture modulus is defined as the maximum stress that a rectangular test material of a specific size can withstand when subjected to three-point bending on a specific device. Its unit is N/mm ² or MPa.

The international standard testing methods can be found in ISO5013. Sample size: 150 mm x 25 mm x 25 mm.

NETZSCH - HMOR 422 D/3, Capable of measuring the fracture modulus of refractory materials at a maximum temperature of 1500 ° C and a maximum load of 5000N (60 N/mm ²), and capable of continuous measurement using three-point bending mode.

If optional equipment for load and deformation measurement, as well as constant strain rate, is used, additional information on the elastic limit and crack propagation of ceramic specimens can be obtained.

HMOR 422 E/4 is used to measure small individual samples, following the four point bending method, with a distance of 40mm between support points. The method of sample insertion has been simplified through an easy to operate dual hood furnace body (with a maximum temperature of 1450 ° C). This model uses a differential measurement system, similar to the system used in RUL/CIC 421, to accurately determine the deformation of the specimen.
