In order to make the fibers smooth, anti-static, and cohesive, it is necessary to have a certain amount of oil content in the fibers. The oil content (oiling rate) of fibers has a significant impact on their textile processing performance. Low or high oil content (oiling rate) can have adverse effects on the processing performance of fiber textiles. Fiber oil content (oiling rate) is too low, which is prone to static electricity phenomenon; Excessive oil content (oiling rate) can easily lead to sticking problems. The problem caused by high fiber oil content (oiling rate) is often more difficult to solve than low fiber oil content (oiling rate). Therefore, when using oil agents, as long as they can meet the requirements of anti-static and smoothness, it is better to have a lower oil content (oiling rate).
Working principle
The commonly used methods for determining the oil content in fibers include the weight method and the nuclear magnetic resonance method. The weight method has a long measurement time and large measurement errors, while the nuclear magnetic resonance method is expensive and not suitable for general enterprises to use. Our company's "Fiber Oil Content Tester" is specially developed to solve the above problems. The content of the oil agent is calculated based on the absorbance A2930, A2960, and A3030 at spectral bands with wave numbers of 2930cm-1 (stretching vibration of C-H bond in CH2 group), 2960cm-1 (stretching vibration of C-H bond in CH3 group), and 3030cm-1 (stretching vibration of C-H bond in aromatic ring), as well as correction coefficients X, Y, Z, and F. The concentration C is then calculated using the formula C=X * A2930+Y * A2960+Z * (A3030-A2930/F).
Weigh the fiber weight M=about 0.1000 grams using a one in ten thousand balance, extract the oil from the fiber using tetrachloroethylene (equipped with a specialized fiber oil extractor for Bo Hai Xing Yuan, which can extract 12 samples simultaneously), and dilute to a volume of 25ml in a colorimetric tube with V=25ml. Measure the oil content C (mg/L) in the extract. The oil content (oiling rate) in the fiber is
Cs=C*V/(M*1000) (mg/g),
