1、 Overview of Distillation Kettle
Distillation is a thermodynamic separation process that utilizes the different boiling points of various components in a mixed liquid or liquid-solid system to evaporate low boiling point components and then condense them to separate the entire component. It is a combination of evaporation and condensation unit operations. Compared with other separation methods such as extraction and filtration crystallization, its advantage is that it does not require the use of solvents other than system components, thus ensuring that no new impurities are introduced. Distillation conditions: 1. The liquid is a mixture. 2. The boiling points of each component are different. Therefore, the distillation kettle is composed of a reaction kettle with heating and evaporation function, a condenser with condensation effect, and a receiving tank. Distillation kettles are suitable for the recovery of dilute alcohol in industries such as pharmaceuticals, food, light industry, and chemical engineering, as well as for the distillation of other coal solvents such as methanol. Distillation reaction vessels need to meet certain temperature, pressure, and sealing requirements from a design perspective, and are also equipped with agitators, different heating systems, and other non-standard container equipment according to process requirements. According to the characteristics of the material, vacuum extraction can also be set to achieve vacuum depressurization distillation.
2、 Characteristics of distillation kettle
1. A distillation kettle is a system that mainly includes the kettle body, kettle cover, feed inlet, distillate steam outlet, kettle residue outlet, heating system and condensation system, electrical control system, etc. A distillation kettle is equipped with heating function, which can be an electric heating distillation kettle, a heat-conducting oil distillation kettle, or a steam heating distillation kettle according to the characteristics of the material. The size of the condenser is prepared according to the characteristics of the separated material and distillation requirements. Atmospheric distillation kettle is a material with weak thermal sensitivity. Reduced pressure distillation is the process of adding a pressure reducing system to lower the boiling point of the raw material liquid, avoiding the decomposition and denaturation of components with poor thermal stability in the raw material liquid at higher temperatures.
2. The temperature and pressure of the distillation kettle should be well controlled, otherwise the temperature will rise quickly and boiling will occur when the pressure is high. Generally, distillation kettles can be equipped with or without stirring according to process requirements. When heating, it should be done slowly to prevent boiling. The condenser should be equipped with matching configurations, and the size of the condenser should be configured according to the characteristics of the material. The cooling water flow rate of the condenser should be sufficient, otherwise it cannot cool the material well.
3. The distillation kettle consists of a tank body, upper and lower heads, supports, transmission devices, shaft sealing devices, etc. It can also be equipped with measuring devices and stirring devices according to process requirements.
