Classification of high-efficiency filters

High efficiency filters are mainly classified according to their structureH13 high-efficiency filter with partition, H14 high-efficiency filter without partition, and combined high-efficiency filter.

1、 Efficient filter, also known as high-efficiency filterAir filters, high-efficiency filters. High efficiency air filters are generally used in semiconductor manufacturing plants, clean room end air supply areas, clean laminar flow equipment, clean workbenches, and other places where ultra-high cleanliness is required locally.

High efficiency filters are mainly used to capture particles, dust, and various suspended solids below 0.5um. An air purifier is mainly composed of two parts: a filter element and a housing. The basic requirements are high filtration efficiency, low flow resistance, and the ability to use continuously for a long time to reduce the cost of consumables in the later stage. The filter element refers to the air filter, and high-efficiency filters play a crucial role in the air purification industry.

2、 Characteristics of high-efficiency filters:
1) Efficient air filters have better sealing effect, longer durability, and are less prone to leakage;

2) High efficiency air filter material with double-sided metal protective mesh (baked paint).

3) The outer frame of the high-efficiency air filter is made of aluminum alloy, and can also be made of galvanized frame or stainless steel frame. It can provide various thicknesses such as 50mm, 69mm, 90mm, etc.

4) High efficiency air filter filtration efficiency (EN1882): 95% -99.999995%.

5) High efficiency air filter filtration grade (EN1882). H11-H14、U15、U16。

3、 Key points for selecting high-efficiency filters:

1) The main control parameters for selecting high-efficiency air filters include filtration efficiency, rated air volume, initial resistance at rated air volume, and dust holding capacity.
2) According to the method specified in GB/T6165-1985 "Performance Test Methods for High Efficiency Air Filters - Transmittance and Resistance", filters with a transmittance of ≤ 0.1% (i.e. efficiency ≥ 99.9%) or a count transmittance of ≤ 0.001% for particles with a particle size ≥ 0.1 μ m (i.e. efficiency filter ≥ 99.999%) are considered.

4、 Efficient filter:

3) Common filter materials for high-efficiency filters include ultrafine glass fiber.

4) Air filters should meet fire prevention requirements, and high-efficiency air filters are divided into three levels according to their fire resistance:

Grade 1 filter, all filter materials are non combustible, and non combustible materials should comply with GB8624-2011 Grade A.

Level 2 filter, the filter material should be non combustible material that complies with GB8624-2011 Grade A, and the partition plate and frame can be made of combustible material that complies with GB8624-2012 Grade B2.

Grade 3 filter, all materials of the filter can comply with GB8624-2012 B3 level.

4) When designing, the final resistance can be calculated as twice the initial resistance of the filter.

5) The initial resistance of the high-efficiency filter shall not exceed 10% of the resistance of the product sample.

6) High efficiency filters should not be used alone, and high-efficiency air filters should be installed at the end of the purification air conditioning system.

7) The dust holding capacity manufacturer should provide it. High efficiency filters should be leak tested before leaving the factory. Other requirements will be determined based on user needs.

8) Combination filter vents are commonly used in general non parallel flow clean air conditioning systems.

5、 Classification of high-efficiency filter products:
Mainly divided into: high efficiency filters with partitions, high efficiency filters without partitions, V-BED high efficiency filters, and high temperature resistant high efficiency filters.

No partition high-efficiency filter
A non partition filter uses hot melt adhesive instead of aluminum foil to separate the filter material of a partition filter.

Due to the absence of partitions, a 50mm thick non partition filter can achieve the performance of a 150mm thick partition filter.

The HEPA with a 90mm thick outer frame can achieve an air volume 1.3 times that of the SPAN 150mm thick standard resistance type with partitions and twice that of the SPAN 150mm thick standard resistance type with the same filtration area and filtration efficiency.

It can meet the stringent requirements of various spaces, weights, and energy consumption for air purification today.

deep-pleat high efficiency filter
A high-efficiency filter with a partition is made by using ultrafine fibers as filter material, high-quality kraft paper hot rolling forming, or using adhesive paper and aluminum platinum as partition plates, bonded with wooden or aluminum alloy frames. It has the advantages of high filtration efficiency, low resistance, and large air volume.

High efficiency filters with partitions often use double-sided adhesive coated copperplate paper as the partition board, in order to prevent the partition board from shrinking due to the influence of hot, cold, dry, and wet conditions, thereby emitting particles. Suitable for low-level non unidirectional flow projects and various purification equipment and clean rooms.

Aluminum partition filters are mainly used in high temperature or high humidity environments, while paper partition filters are used in ordinary clean environments. The partition has a relatively large air volume and can be used for high-temperature filtration.

V-shaped pleated filter

Used for general ventilation systems, it has the characteristics of large filtration area, low resistance, and long service life. It can be used as a pre filter for high-efficiency filters, effectively extending the service life of high-efficiency filters.
High temperature resistant and efficient filter
This filter can be used in a high temperature environment of 250 ℃, with a filtration efficiency of 99.99% @ 0.3 μ m

9、 Material selection for high-efficiency filter structure:
Structure: The outer frame mainly uses aluminum alloy profiles, multi-layer plate frames, aluminum plate frames, galvanized steel plate frames, with aluminum alloy profile frames being the most commonly used. It is mainly made into square shaped structures.
Filter media: Glass fiber is commonly used, and synthetic fibers are gradually being used. Some foreign manufacturers use electrostatic polytetrafluoroethylene fiber (polarizer) to manufacture high-efficiency filters, commonly known as PTFE.
Efficient structures can be divided into those without partitions and those with partitions.
Non partition mainly uses hot-melt adhesive as the separator for the filter element, which facilitates mechanized production. In addition, due to its advantages of small size, light weight, easy installation, stable efficiency, and uniform wind speed, the large-scale filters required for clean rooms often adopt non partition structures.
There are partitions for high efficiency, and aluminum foil and paper are often folded as filter separators to form air channels.
The partition board can be made of high-quality kraft paper, hot rolled or laminated paper.
Copper coated paper with double-sided adhesive is often used as the partition board, mainly to prevent the partition board from shrinking due to the influence of hot, cold, dry, and wet conditions, thereby emitting particles.
However, when there are changes in temperature and humidity, this type of partition paper may emit larger particles, resulting in the cleanliness test of the clean room failing.
Therefore, for places with high cleanliness requirements, it is recommended that customers use non partitioned high-efficiency air filters.
The price of filters with partitions abroad is higher than those without partitions, so there are fewer places using partitions abroad.
In addition, compared with rectangular channels with partition filters, V-shaped channels without partition filters further improve the uniformity of dust storage and extend their service life.
Ventilation without partition filters can avoid the use of metal parts, are easy to dispose of, and meet increasingly strict environmental requirements. Except for certain special occasions that require high temperature resistance and high safety, non partition filters can replace partition filters.
