The motor soft starter is a new type of starting equipment designed and produced using power electronics technology, microprocessor technology, and modern control theory, which has the current international advanced level. This product can effectively limit the starting current of AC asynchronous motors during startup, and can be widely used in loads such as fans, water pumps, conveyors, and compressors. It is an ideal replacement for traditional star/delta conversion, autotransformer voltage reduction, magnetic control voltage reduction, and other voltage reduction equipment.

1. Water pump: By utilizing the pump control function, the phenomenon of water hammer caused by liquid flow impact during starting and stopping is reduced, saving system maintenance costs;

2. Ball mill: using voltage ramp to start, reducing gear torque wear, reducing maintenance workload, and extending service life;

3. Fan: Replacing traditional starters with solid-state soft starters to reduce belt wear and mechanical impact;

4. Compressor: Utilizing current limiting to achieve smooth starting and reduce motor temperature rise;

5. Crusher: Utilizing locked rotor protection and quick protection to avoid mechanical failures and blockages that can cause the motor to overheat and burn out

Protection function

The soft starter has comprehensive protection functions to ensure the safe use of the soft starter and motor. In use, the protection level and protection parameters should be appropriately set according to different situations.

Soft starter overheat protection: The protection will activate when the temperature rises to 80 ℃± 5 ℃, and the overheat protection will be released when the temperature drops to 55 ℃ (minimum).

Input phase loss protection lag time:<3 seconds.

Output phase loss protection lag time:<3 seconds.

Three phase unbalance protection lag time:<3 seconds. Based on the current deviation of each phase being greater than 50% ± 10%, when the load current is lower than 30% of the nominal rated value of the soft starter, the benchmark deviation will be judged to increase.

Starting overcurrent protection time: Protection schedule P15:9-2-1 when the continuous current exceeds 5 times the maximum working current of code F5.

Run overload protection time: Based on the maximum working current of code F6, perform inverse time thermal protection and trip protection time curve (as shown in Figure 9-3-1).

Low power supply voltage protection lag time: When the power supply voltage is below 40% of the limit value, the protection action time is less than 0.5 seconds. Otherwise, when it is below the set value, the protection action time is less than 3 seconds.

Protection hysteresis time for high power supply voltage: When the power supply voltage exceeds 130% of the limit value, the protection action time is less than 0.5 seconds. Otherwise, when it exceeds the set value, the protection action time is less than 3 seconds.

The lag time of load short-circuit protection is less than 0.1 seconds, and the current is more than 10 times the nominal rated current of the soft starter. This protection cannot replace fuse or short-circuit protection devices.

The above time parameters are for reference only, from the detection of a valid signal to the issuance of a trip protection command. If the soft start protection function does not meet the user's requirements, a dedicated protection device should be added to ensure safety.
