The packed tower is a continuous contact gas liquid mass transfer equipment. At the lower part of the circular tower, a support plate is installed, which is filled with a certain height of filling material. The liquid enters like a gateway and is sprayed onto the packing through a distributor, flowing through the gaps of the packing and wetting the surface of the packing to form a flowing liquid film. The liquid flows through the packing and is discharged through the discharge pipe. The liquid tends to flow in a higher proportion in the packing layer, so when the packing layer is higher, it is often divided into sections and a liquid redistributor is set between the two sections to facilitate the redistribution of the liquid. Gas enters the tower through the inlet pipe below the support column and is discharged through the top outlet pipe of the tower through the gap between the packing materials under the pressure difference. The gas and liquid phases in the packing layer flow in reverse flow, and mass transfer between phases usually occurs at the interface between the liquid and gas phases on the packing surface. The composition of the two phases continuously changes along the tower height.

After being drawn out by the fan, the exhaust gas first enters the purification tower. The alkaline washing solution in the absorption tower is pumped by a circulating pump into the tower and flows downwards through the packing material. The acid mist exhaust gas rises in reverse flow and comes into contact with the wet surface of the packing material, undergoing a series of physical and chemical reactions. Due to the concentration difference, mass transfer occurs, thus completing the purification process of the gas. The purified exhaust gas is dehydrated and discharged after reaching the standard through a centrifugal fan. The circulating liquid is regularly discharged to the sewage treatment plant.
