Working principle of fiber disc filter (fully immersed)
The external in and internal out rotary disc filter consists of a series of horizontally installed rotating filter discs, with each filter discComposed of an even number of fan-shaped filter plates, the turntable is equipped with a detachable filter cloth made of fibers with a filter aperture of 10um.

Application scope of fiber disc filter
1. Deep treatment of sewage to ensure that SS meets the first level discharge standard. By combining drug administration and enhancing the deepening reaction, P and chromaticity can be removed.
2. Deep treatment of sewage to achieve the reuse of reclaimed water.
3. New sewage treatment plants and upgrading and renovating old plants are particularly suitable for sites with limited space.
4. Purification of surface water, combined with other technologies to purify surface water into cooling water and boiler water.
The operating status of the fiber disc filter includes: filtration, backwashing, and sludge discharge status.
(1) Filtering
The sewage gravity flow enters the filter tank, which is equipped with a water distribution weir. The filter cloth adopts a fully submerged type, and sewage enters through the outside of the filter cloth. The filtered liquid is collected through hollow pipes and flows through the outlet weir by gravity before being discharged from the filter tank. The entire process is continuous.
(2) Cleaning
Part of the sludge in the filtration process is adsorbed on the outside of the filter cloth, gradually forming a sludge layer. As sludge accumulates on the filter cloth, the filtration resistance of the filter cloth increases, and the water level of the filter gradually rises. Monitor the liquid level changes in the pool through pressure sensors. When the liquid level in the pool reaches the cleaning set value (high water level), the PLC can start the reverse suction pump and begin the cleaning process. During cleaning, the filter can continuously filter.
During the filtration process, the filter disc is in a static state, which is beneficial for the sedimentation of sludge at the bottom of the tank. During the cleaning period, the filter disc rotates at a speed of 1 revolution/2 minutes. The suction pump uses negative pressure to suction the surface of the filter cloth, removing the accumulated sludge particles on the filter cloth. The water inside the filter disc is simultaneously sucked from the inside out, and has a backwashing effect on the filter cloth. The instantaneous flushing area only accounts for about 1% of the total filtration disc area. The backwashing process is intermittent.
During cleaning, two filter discs are grouped together and controlled by the electric valve on the suction pump pipeline through automatic switching. The fiber disc filter tank undergoes a complete cleaning process with alternating cleaning of each group, during which the suction pump operates continuously. When the incoming water quality suddenly deteriorates, the liquid level in the pool quickly rises to the backwash level. During cleaning, all backwash pumps can be started simultaneously to backwash several sets of filter discs until the backwash cycle returns to normal.
(3) Sludge discharge system
The filtering disc of the fiber rotary filter is equipped with a bucket shaped bottom to facilitate the collection of sludge at the bottom of the tank. The sedimentation at the bottom of the sludge tank reduces the amount of sludge on the filter cloth, which can prolong the filtration time and reduce the amount of backwash water. After a set period of time, the PLC starts the sludge discharge pump and returns the sludge to the factory drainage system through the perforated sludge discharge pipe at the bottom of the pool. Among them, the interval and duration of sludge discharge can be adjusted.
