The Beidou ground-based augmentation system is a national satellite navigation high-precision service infrastructure, an important component of the Beidou satellite navigation system, and an important project for efficiently realizing modern economic and social development and location services. It is of great significance for improving the service quality of the Beidou system, meeting the high-precision application needs of the government, industry, and the public, creating differentiated service advantages, and accelerating the application and industrialization of Beidou satellite navigation.
The Beidou ground-based augmentation system consists of five parts: a reference station network, a data processing system, an operation service platform, a data broadcasting system, and a user terminal. After the reference station receives satellite navigation signals, the data processing system calculates and forms differential augmentation information such as precise orbit and clock difference of navigation satellites. It is broadcasted in real time to application terminals through satellite, broadcasting, mobile communication, and other means. The application terminals use the differential augmentation information to correct errors and achieve services at the meter, decimeter, centimeter, and post-processing millimeter levels.
High precision location-based services can be widely used in national defense, transportation, public security, surveying and mapping, precision agriculture, disaster prevention and mitigation and other industries and fields, to meet the growing demand for high-precision positioning and navigation services in China's national economy and the mass consumer market. The location service platform built by combining high-precision Beidou positioning technology with the Internet, mobile communications, cloud computing, big data and other technologies plays an important role in smart cities, the Internet of Vehicles, the Internet of Things and other fields, and will promote the development of new formats of the national economy. At the same time, the construction of Beidou ground-based enhancement system will strongly drive the development of the whole industrial chain of satellite navigation of Beidou chips, modules, user terminals and application software.
