BOD analysis is one of the most common applications in water quality monitoring laboratories, and the SP2000 series is Skalar's most flexible robot BOD analysis platform currently available. It adopts novel design and the latest technological innovation, and can flexibly set up BOD sample bottles from 18 to 198 positions.


The development of this analyzer is aimed at meeting your practical needs for improving laboratory sample analysis speed, automation level, and sample processing capacity. According to EPA 405.1/ISO 5815-1/EN-1899-1/2, standard method 5210 B, According to international and GB standards such as DIN 38409 and GB7488-87, automated analysis can also be carried out according to customer specific methods.


Different models can be provided based on the sample processing capacity, customer budget, and degree of automation. All Skalar BOD robot analyzers can automatically add nitrification inhibitors/inoculants, add diluents, mix samples, measure dissolved oxygen values, clean electrodes/stirrers, and calculate BOD values according to standard requirements. Optional automatic sample transfer workstation and automatic opening/closing device for sample bottles. Automated BOD applications can save 85% of operation time and meet the requirements of continuous analysis.

Typical BOD analysis steps:

Manually or automatically transfer the sample to the BOD sample bottle, enter the sample number and dilution factor in the sample table, or import the sample table from LIMS.

Place the bracket containing the sample bottle on the robot analyzer. Start the analyzer, the instrument automatically opens the bottle cap and adds nitrification inhibitor (ATU), inoculates, and diluents.

Analyze the samples one by one according to the above steps until all samples are analyzed. Place the sample rack in the incubator at 20 ° C for 5 days, and after cultivation, place the sample rack directly on the robot analyzer.

The operator opens the analyzer, opens the bottle cap, and measures the final dissolved oxygen value while the sample is mixed and stirred. The computer automatically calculates the BOD value, covers the bottle cap, and repeats the above process until all samples are measured.

The analysis results can be displayed on computer screens, printed, or converted into file formats compatible with other software or LIMS systems.
