It can measure the weight concentration (weight/spatial volume) of aerosol particles or respiratory particles (PSP) of PM1.0, PM2.5, and PM10 in real-time, providing rapid and accurate measurement results.

The TSI 8530 dust analyzer/TSI 8532 dust analyzer in the United States uses the principle of 90 degree right angle light scattering to draw aerosol particles into an optical chamber using an internal air pump, and then measures the concentration of particles based on the amount of light scattering. The special "sheath gas" protection design in the air path envelops dirty air, so when particles enter the optical chamber, the optical lens can still remain clean for more accurate readings and less maintenance.
