Amplification of MicroscopeThe limit is the effective magnification,Resolution of microscopeIt refers to the minimum distance between two objects that can be clearly distinguished by a microscope.
Resolution and magnification are two different but interrelated concepts.

When selecting the objective lensNumerical ApertureNot large enough, that is, when the resolution is not high enough, the microscope cannot distinguish the fine structure of the object. At this time, even if the magnification is excessively increased, only an image with a large outline but unclear details can be obtained, which is called invalid magnification. On the contrary, if the resolution meets the requirements but the magnification is insufficient, although the microscope has the ability to distinguish, the image is still too small to be clearly seen by the human eye. Therefore, in order to fully utilize the resolution capability of the microscope, the numerical aperture should be reasonably matched with the total magnification of the microscope.
Spot lighting systemIt has a significant impact on the imaging performance of microscopes, but it is also a link that is easily overlooked by users. Its function is to provide sufficient and uniform surface illumination with sufficient brightness.
The beam from the spotlight should be able to fill the aperture angle of the objective lens, otherwise the highest resolution that the objective lens can achieve cannot be fully utilized. For this purpose, a variable aperture stop similar to that in photographic objectives is installed in the spotlight, which can adjust the aperture size of the illumination beam to match the aperture angle of the objective lens.

Change the lighting methodDifferent observation methods can be obtained, such as bright object points on a bright background (known as bright field illumination) or bright object points on a dark background (known as dark field illumination), in order to better discover and observe microstructures in different situations.
