The heat treatment strengthening of cast aluminum alloys usually adopts solid solution treatment and aging treatment. Heating to a certain temperature for insulation during solid solution treatment, followed by rapid cooling (water cooling) to obtain a solid solution with a certain degree of supersaturation, and then improving the mechanical properties of the alloy through aging strengthening. In recent years, cryogenic treatment of aluminum alloys has also been extensively studied, and it has been proven to improve the mechanical properties of alloys. The cryogenic treatment process for aluminum alloy casting is relatively simple, generally involving solid solution heating, water cooling to room temperature, followed by cryogenic treatment and subsequent aging treatment. This article combines the process of solid solution heating and insulation of cast aluminum alloy, followed by direct cooling and insulation in liquid nitrogen for a certain period of time, that is, the water cooling process and the cryogenic treatment process are merged into one process, which is called "solid solution cryogenic treatment". To explore the optimal heat treatment strengthening method for cast aluminum alloys by testing the changes in mechanical properties of the alloy.
