GX7800 is a compact 8-slot PXI chassis that can accommodate up to 7 instruments, as well as embedded 3-slot PXI controllers or external bus controllers (such as MXI interfaces). The compact 3U size of GX7800 only occupies 9x18 inches of workspace, making it ideal for desktop or space limited applications.

The system power supply of GX7800 series is provided by a single power configuration, providing 450 watts of system power.

The air cooling of the chassis is provided by two 79CFM fans located below the chassis, which are also equipped with separate fans to provide cooling for the system power supply. The two fan speeds provide users with the flexibility to optimize thermal management inside the chassis in both low-power and high-power configurations. The cooling system of the chassis provides airflow for all PXI specification module slots, without the need for additional rack space for air inlet or outlet ports.

The GX7800's eight slots include six PXI-1 slots, one PXI timing slot, and one PXI controller slot for a 3-slot controller. The external 10 MHz PXI clock can also be provided to the backplane through the connection on the back panel of the chassis. The onboard PXI 10 MHz clock can also be used on the back panel of the chassis.

software

The chassis comes with the HW software installation package, which provides a PXI Explorer application for viewing and configuring PXI system configuration files used by the resource manager software.
