The 728 accelerometer from Endefco in the United States is an extremely lightweight piezoresistive accelerometer with a sturdy structure, damping, adhesive installation, and is specifically designed for impact measurement of mobile consumer electronic devices. The 728 chip is etched from a single silicon wafer, weighing 0.5 grams and having a very small size. Its unique component structure has a very high resonant frequency. The balanced resistor on the chip provides low zero point output and low thermal zero point drift. 728 is extremely lightweight and has a very small mass load when pasted and installed on the specimen.
