The 26GHz radar level gauge antenna emits extremely narrow microwave pulses, which propagate at the speed of light in space. When they encounter the surface of the measured medium, some of their energy is reflected back and received by the same antenna. The time interval between transmitting and receiving pulses is proportional to the distance from the antenna to the surface of the measured medium. Due to the extremely high propagation speed of electromagnetic waves, it is difficult to confirm the time interval between the emitted pulse and the received pulse, which is very small (in the nanosecond range). The radar level gauge uses a special correlation demodulation technique that can accurately identify the time interval between the transmitted pulse and the received pulse, thereby further calculating the distance between the antenna and the surface of the measured medium.

working principle

Principle: The 26GHz radar level gauge antenna emits extremely narrow microwave pulses, which propagate at the speed of light in space. When they encounter the surface of the measured medium, some of their energy is reflected back and received by the same antenna. The time interval between transmitting and receiving pulses is proportional to the distance from the antenna to the surface of the measured medium. Performance Characteristics

1) The high-frequency radar level gauge has high energy, small beam angle (the beam angle of a 96mm diameter horn antenna is 8 °), small antenna size, and high accuracy.
2) The high-frequency radar has a wavelength of 11mm. When measuring the bulk material level, the radar wave reflection mainly comes from the diffuse reflection of the material surface. The intensity of the diffuse reflection is proportional to the size of the material and inversely proportional to the wavelength, which is one of the best reasons for measuring the bulk material level.
3) In some applications of small tanks with small diameters and low heights, when the medium or highly corrosive medium in the tank has volatile gases, the ultrasonic measurement effect is poor, and the radar relative effect is good, resulting in multipath reflection in the small tank; The antenna of high-frequency radar is short and has good directionality, making it more suitable for measuring small tanks.
4) Due to the harsh on-site environment, dirt and water vapor will accumulate on the radar antenna over time. The high-frequency radar antenna is small, and adding an antenna cover can greatly improve the impact of dirt and water vapor.
5) High frequency radar has good directionality and can be installed outside the container for measurement in many harsh working conditions through simple isolation. Due to the use of advanced microprocessors and unique EchoDiscovery echo processing technology, the radar level gauge can be applied to various complex working conditions.
6) Adopting a pulse working mode, the radar level gauge has extremely low transmission power and can be installed in various metal and non-metal containers without causing harm to the human body and the environment.
