Feature Overview

The MODBUS protocol is the most widely used universal protocol in electronic industrial equipment and has now become a universal industrial standard. Through this protocol, various MODBUS devices (such as PLC, DCS, HMI, various instruments, etc.) can communicate with each other via a network or serial link. However, the MODBUS protocol used in serial ports and Ethernet is different, so a gateway is needed to complete the communication conversion between the two protocols. ADM-5832G is a product specifically designed to connect MODBUS TCP devices and MODBUS RTU/ASCII devices.

ADM-5832G is a multifunctional 2-port RS-485/422 serial port MODBUS gateway device that integrates MODBUS TCP, MODBUS RTU, and MODBUS ASCII protocols. The device's serial port can be flexibly configured into RS-485 or RS-422 mode through software, allowing users to easily achieve seamless integration between MODBUS Ethernet devices and MODBUS serial port devices.

8. When using Modbus RTU/ASCII Master, a maximum of 4 Modbus TCP slave devices can be supported, and two RS-485/422 serial ports can be connected to the Modbus RTU master simultaneously;

9. Provide automatic character timeout adaptation function;

10. Provide ID mapping function to manage host ID numbers;

11. The working port, target IP, target port number, and serial port can all be set from the device's ID range, and the ID range of two serial ports cannot be duplicated;

12. It can be configured using Web Server, Telnet, and MG Configuration management software,The software supports operating systems such as Windows 98/me/NT/2000/XP/Win7/WIN8/WIN10;

MODBUS gateway server configuration method

ADM-5832G has three configuration methods, namely Telnet remote login configuration, Web Server login configuration, and MG Configuration PC software configuration.

1. WebServer login configuration

Open the IE browser,Enter the IP address of the ADM-5832G MODBUS gateway server in the address bar (default: 192.168.10.245).

2. Telnet login configuration

Enter telnet 192.168.10.245 during runtime to enter the command prompt to set parameters.

3. MG Configuration PC software for configuration

Install the MG Configuration transfer for ADM-5832G MODBUS gateway server delivery, which allows you to search for ADM-5832G MODBUS gateway server settings on the local area network and modify parameters.
